The visitor counter
The site uses a small visitor counter called Umami. It counts how many people visit, which pages they look at, which resources get downloaded, and roughly where visitors arrive from (a country, and the site that linked here). It does not use cookies, it does not follow you to other websites, and it cannot tell me who you are. The numbers are only used to see which resources are helping and what to build next.
Because of that, there is no cookie banner on this site. Nothing is stored on your device by The Pastoral Guide.
Downloads
Every resource is free and you can download it without signing in or giving any details. The counter records that a download happened, not who made it.
If you give me your email address
If you use the box on the site to hear when new volumes of resources land, your address is stored by the mailing service I use for that, which is called Kit, and nothing else. You will get an email when there is something new to tell you about, with an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message. I will never sell your address or pass it to anyone else.
If you email me directly, I keep your message and address so that I can reply and follow up. That is all.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like every web server, GitHub keeps standard technical logs of requests to the site, which can include the address of the connecting device. I do not see or use those logs; GitHub’s own privacy statement covers them.
Your choices
If you would like to know what I hold about you, or want it deleted, email thepastoralguide@gmail.com and I will sort it out. If any of this changes, I will update this page and the date below.
