I’ve been a form tutor for Years 7, 9, 10 and 12, and each of those groups needed something slightly different. Most of the PSHE I’ve delivered along the way has been built the same way: prescriptive, a lot of sitting down and discussing, not much getting up and doing, and a lot of telling students what to value rather than giving them a way to build it for themselves.

So I tried something small with my own form. Pots, compost, a few packets of herb seeds, and the job of keeping them alive. That became The Planting Project, and they were so excited about it. They took it on as their responsibility, and it was lovely to see them step up over something that little. That is what made me want to build more, and to make it easy for other tutors to pick up and use.

By day I’m a Secondary Science Teacher, and I’ve worked in international schools since 2019. I’m currently living and working in Bangkok, at a British international school. My experience teaching science ranges from Year 7 to Year 13 across a mixture of curricula: general science lower down, IGCSE Biology and Chemistry in the middle years, and IB Chemistry and Sports, Exercise and Health Science at the top. I’m also the Student Council Coordinator, which is where the assemblies and events on this shelf come from. Sweet Notes and Anti-Bullying Week have both run as whole-school events, and they worked really well at bringing everyone together.

Everything here is something I’ve used with my own students, or am about to. Have a look around, take whatever helps, and if there’s a resource you wish existed, email me and I’ll build it.
