How the two sessions work
Session one sets the project up and session two is presentation day. They sit a week apart by default, though you can stretch that gap if your form needs longer. There’s nothing to buy or gather beforehand.
Choosing and committing
- Activity 1: choose a role model, and what you admire about them.
- The values menu, then the two tracks explained.
- Activity 2: commit to a track, and a specific plan for the week.
- Introduces the tracker, and previews presentation day.
Two minutes, to the form
- How the day runs: two minutes each, and bring your evidence with you.
- Every student presents: role model, values, service, evidence, reflection.
- Both tracks count equally. There is no ranking and no award for this one.
The two tracks
Students choose whichever fits their values best.
Daily Practice
A small act tied to your values, repeated every day this week.
- Washing the dishes every evening
- Writing a friend a positivity note each day
- Cooking a meal for your family
Lasting Change
Something you build once, that keeps giving after this week ends.
- A no-questions-asked stationery basket
- A class kindness noticeboard
- A lending shelf for revision guides
The tracker
One workbook with three sheets. The first is a class roster with each student’s role model, values and track. The other two are the logs: a day-by-day evidence log for Daily Practice, and a four-stage milestone log (planned, built, launched, response) for Lasting Change. Totals and counts fill in automatically.
Before your first session
- Read through the slides, so you know the order things come up in
- Add your form’s names to the tracker
- Decide how long the week of action will run: a week by default, longer if Lasting Change projects need it
- Print the Project Planner and Reflection Sheet, only if your form prefers paper
